The story behind...
I art directed the photo shoot for a local church in 2016. The theme for their retreat that year was "Living Theology". Below is their welcoming statement: "Living theology takes into account the resurrection of Jesus. It enables us to understand and relate with a savior who is alive. Through the Word, the prophetic, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we desire to encounter Jesus in a tangible way. We don't want to understand with our minds alone, but with all of our heart and soul and strength as well. Jesus is alive, and our theology should reflect this truth." Every Sunday during worship service the church always have flaggers dancing on the balcony. We thought the act of flagging really captures their theme and decided to use it as the main element for this photo shoot.
